Pencils down, people! The first round of voting is over! 74 voters have selected 26 great games to be our 2016 Meeples Choice nominees. I have just activated the final round. Once again, we’ll be voting at http://meepleschoice.win. This time, choose no more than 3 games. And just as before, you can change your votes as long as the polls remain open.

If you’ve just come back from your holiday weekend and are reading this, please take the time to make your selections. Don’t worry, we’ll keep things open until July 10. But sometime next Monday, we’ll shut the voting down and at that point, I’ll announce the three Meeples Choice Award winners!

Here are the nominated games. Find the three you feel are most worthy and make your opinions felt!

By the way, nine games fell just one vote short of getting nominated. Here are the unlucky titles; feel free to moan publicly if one of them is your favorite!

Aeon's End
Guilds of London
Key to the City – London
Mare Nostrum: Empires
Mechs vs. Minions
Power Grid: The Card Game
The Castles of Burgundy: The Card Game
World's Fair 1893

Fun MCA Facts: There's a huge amount of variety in the designers of our nominated games this year. Seasoned veterans rub elbows with brash newcomers and every corner of the world seems to be represented. Only two designers have multiple games nominated: Friedemann Friese (with his two innovative card games, Fabled Fruit and Fuji Flush) and Alexander Pfister (Great Western Trail and Oh My Goods!). You may recall that Pfister had three nominated games last year--the guy's on quite a roll. Congratulations to both.

The publisher with the most nominated games is Fantasy Flight--the Arkham Horror Card Game, Mansions of Madness, and Star Wars: Rebellion. The sale to Asmodee doesn't seem to have slowed the FFG guys down at all!
